Plastic LARP armor

Plastic armor is light and cheap. Sounds perfect, and it's easy to find on Ebay, usually in the pickle barrel plastic variety. In NERO it's worth 2 points / location (3 points / location is the max). On the Ebay auctions they say it looks like black leather or blackened steel. However, I'm told that after a few events it gets scratched up and starts looking like crappy plastic.

You can try to wear clothes over it, or some LARPers have decorated their plastic armor with leather or suede.

I also received this comment via email: Hi there, HPDE plastic holds up better than steel and looks better longer than any steel armor and I can prove it to you with a simple test. Take a piece ov barrel plastic and a piece of any steel you can get and put them in water for 2 weeks. Once a day take each piece out and take a hammer and pound on them a few times on grass or dirt. See for yourself at the end what looks better and then look me up on ebay under pitbull_armory.

Here are a few pictures of the plastic pickle barrel armor.

LARPs I play

I play NERO. First NERO has a good LARP in Traverse City, Michigan (the land of ). Then there's the Kingdom of Vandlar, where my character had the grand opening of Sparktet's School for Adventurer Training (SAT) - that's the great NERO Alliance Ohio LARP. I've also played closer to home. There's the NJ larp (Moria) and the PA LARP (Ashbury, where I started my LARPing career).
