Chainmail LARP armor?

LARPers need chainmail armor to be light (suits routinely weigh 30+ pounds), durable, and low-maintenance. I scoured the web for titanium chainmail but couldn't find any for sale. I wasn't about to make my own either. Aluminum chainmail is light, but I'm told that it needs repairing too often. I ended up with Azon from Ringmesh.com. It's light (very comfortable) and durable but only worth 2 points / location out of a maximum of 3. I love their chainmail but some people complain its too expensive. It is expensive and you have to decide if it's worth it to you. Home made 18 gauge steel armor (small plates sewn into a shirt) will probably be almost as comfy, worth more points, and will certainly be less expensive. It probably won't look as cool though. Also keep in mind that the sizes here can be a bit tricky. I measured my chest and added 6 inches but the armor I got was still a bit tight around the armpits.

Chainmail comes in all shapes and sizes from vests, to tunics, to coifs. I opted for the vest because something with long arms could slow down my sword arm (more than the normal bracers and upper arm armor would) and something too long might slow down my already too slow sprint. Besides, I wanted to ocver my arms and legs with armor that would be worth 3 points / location.

This is one of the few times when Ebay won't help you. I suppose it's worth a quick search, but I saw only heavy chain and aluminum chain.
